Netsuke 1

What is Netsuke?

In Japan, we had worn traditional costume Kimono, which has no pocket, as a daily cloth before European cloths were introduced us.

When we have  to carry something like small money, tissue paper, tobacco, medicine and etc, we put into Sagemono like porch, Tobacco case or Inro (Japanese portable medicine case), and hang on the belt with Netsuke.
It helps to keep them staying on the belt. When we use the Sagemono without Netsuke, they would drop down from the belt easily.
